Camus also gives us the opportunity to consider that Sisyphus is a happy man. In another Lou Reed interview he allows us to look briefly behind the stage of his mind: An interviewer notes that he is talking in paradoxes, and Lou Reed answers: I mention this because Camus’ philosophy here is partially paradoxical. “Do you like press interviews in general?”Īnd when frankly asked if he was a “transvestite or homosexual”, he answered, “Sometimes.” “Do you like meeting people, talking to people?” “Lou, you’re a man of few words, why is this?” In 1974 Lou sits in my favourite interview of mine, being difficult, partly, but also being astoundingly clever.
